La Haine

Countless movies show the concept of racism and islamophobia, this paper discusses a French movie ‘La Haine’ which means “hate”, this movie shows the impression of racism and discrimination against Islam and the Black community in France. Although the movie was released in 1995 it still shows the situation of the Black community and Islam in France. The movie includes a group of three friends living in Paris as immigrants, one of them was Muslim and the other was Black. They were living in scarcity with aimless life, society discriminated against them because of their poverty and their miserable conditions, and also they were treated brutally by the Paris cops as they were immigrants. This plot of the movie shows how religion, color, and status was considered the symbol of respect in France. The end shows us that, hate only drives hate, just because society hatred them because of no logical reason, in return they hatred the society and culture of France too. The movie clearly defines the perception of racism and discrimination against religion.

Inch’allah Dimanche

Another movie that shows that aspects of racism and discrimination of Islam are Inch’allah Dimanche, this shows a story of a housewife who struggles to find her personality in the French culture and gets discriminated against and humiliated by her neighbor because of her Religion. Her husband forced her into isolation in their house because he feared that the foreign culture will impact her wife’s honor. The movies show how Muslim families lived in francophone countries, they spend their lives there with no freedom. This movie point outs the difficulties of immigration, combination, and non-freedom. This is showing islamophobia in the francophone world, where everyone is living with racism, biasness, and discrimination.
